LIFE

When I was…

When I was a just a little boy I had dreams. Every kid wants to grow up and be heroic in some way. We have the idea we can do anything we want. We dream of flying, being tiny, turning invisible (especially in the girls shower room), or becoming a superhuman with laser beam eyes. What happens to us as we grow up? Why do we forget to dream? Why so serious?

Death to Life

When I was about 15 years old I had a friend that told me a secret about himself. At that time, I wasn’t sure if he was kidding or he was crazy. I knew he was on ADD medication and figured he was hallucinating or something odd. It was a secret you just don’t go out and tell a parent to see if you can help. This secret was so weird, all I could do was keep it to myself and be there for my friend when he needed to talk about it. It was hard for me to go to sleep for several weeks after hearing what he told me. I would lay in bed thinking of exactly what it would be like to be him. He told me he was about 85 years old and dying.

“I am your father!”

If you didn’t already know, this Sunday is Father’s Day and I am a dad. I’m a very proud dad. I got 3 wonderful boys that make me smile everyday. Yeah, they piss me off from time to time, but for the most part, they are great. I could do this post on Sunday, but nobody reads my blog on the weekends and I’ll probably be busy with my kids. So, you get to read it today.

16 Weeks

I spent the last 16 weeks going to a nutritionist. Yesterday was my last weigh-in and bodyfat test. It wasn’t easy and I didn’t make all my goals, but I am happy I did it. I am no healthier than I was before. I am the typical lazy American when it comes to eating. I used to by the cheap foods loaded with carbs and go out to eat atleast 3 times a week. Now, I plan my meals a bit better and only eat out once a week. I was sick of being the stereotypical gamer.

5. Fear, Envy, and Laziness

I have always wanted to write something people enjoyed. A blog post is a good start, buy it is not the ultimate way of seeing if my writing is enjoyed cthere are so many blogs out there, my blog is like looking for a tear drop in the rain. The ultimate way of seeing if people enjoy my writing is a book or screenplay. Even then, it is still a needle in a haystack, but that is better odds than the tear drop.

6. The End!

(Warning: Feedburner screwed this up read this Post first. The while thing will make more sense.)

I see you made it to the end of my experimental blog post. I learned a lot. I hope it worked out for you. How was the journey? What did you like? What sucked? I think my Sourh Park post sucked a bit. I liked the iPhone post. I thought this would be fun to do. I’m not sure if all the posts fell together like they should have.

Fatherhood: Inner Demons

One of the hardest things being an adult is, realizing you are an adult. There is an invisible barrier you have to cross at some point in your life. Some people put an age on that barrier, others just slam face first into it. Fatherhood is one of those those times you slam face first into the adult barrier. It you are a young adult that suddenly becomes a father, it could damage your perception of what an adult is and start a battle with your inner demons.

Fatherhood: Game on!

This is my Sunday column about fatherhood and gaming. I’ll do a post like this at least once. Doing this post meets my quota, so don’t expect more. I’m just kidding. I’ll try to post one of these gems every Sunday. This weeks Fatgerhood post is about the benifits of being a gaming parent. I can only speak fir the male side of parents, that is why the column is about fatherhood and gaming.

Recycled: Living with a Gamer

Hi! My name is Pink Bunnie Foo Foo and I am Scarybooster’s girlfriend. Scarybooster asked me to write a post about my thoughts on living with a gamer. He told me to make up a cutesy, girly name. I guess girls are suppose to always be cute and cuddly. I picked Pink Bunnie to be smart ass and he added the Foo Foo. I guess he is as big a smart ass. He wanted a view on gaming from a non-gamer. I’m not much of a writer or blogger, so bear with me while I fumble to find a writing voice.
