Juicy Hotdog MMO
As some of you might know, I had a big, juicy hotdog for lunch yesterday. I stared at that wiener for a good 10 minutes before I chomped down on it. It was gone in seconds. I was left feeling empty as I wiped the speckles of ketchup off my chin. Damn mustard dripped on my crotch. There was something magical about that hotdog…
Hype:
Before Bane
I finally read my first Star Wars book. I read Darth Bane Path of Destruction, by Drew Karpyshyn. It was a pretty good book. I’m not going to review it or anything, I just have a few thoughts about the Star Wars universe. Being my first Star Wars book, I am a bit confused by the lore and timeline. There wasn’t much confusion in Darth Bane. It was a well thought out story and it had enough background so I didn’t get lost. I haven’t played Knights of the Old Republic, so I am pretty ignorant of the timeframe. The only Star Wars I have ever been exposed to is the movies. I refuse to read any books around the time of the movies. O have a hard time with the way I visualize the characters and the characters from the movies. My inner vision conflicts with the faces from the movie, so I can’t enjoy myself. I pop out of my reading state and get distracted by what I remember of the movie. That is why I will not read any of those books. I do admit, I would like to read the book where Luke Skywalker turns evil, but I have no idea what book that is. Oh, and I would like to read the one he dies in.
SWTOR: Not going to be negitive
I looked at Star Wars The Old Republic’s social networking experiment numbers today and thought bad things. It doesn’t look like they are going to get 52,000 more Facebook Likes and 10,000+ more Twitter followers in 6 days. It looks like the negative poopy heads have won.
I will still blog about SWTOR everyday this week to honor their effort to feel out their future player-base. I just wish huge sites like Darth Hater or Massively plugged this a bit more. I know they have bigger fish to fry, but it would have been nice to see little reminders at the bottom of all SWTOR posts.
The Passion of SWTOR
All of us are passionate about something in our lives. We use our passion to get up in the morning, take a shower, brush our teeth, eat a foot long hotdog, spank the kids, yell at out mother in-law, or fart in an elevator going 59 floors. Strong or weak, our passion is a great thing that motivates us. Sometimes, others share our passion. That group of people is called a community. As we project our passion as a group, the community grows and grows. The bigger a community, the more diverse opinions become. There are times when a community splits into smaller sects. Even though the sects have slight differences in opinions, the community still grows strong with passion. When people start loosing faith in their cause, they break away from the community, go to South America and drink Kookaid that kills them. Don’t drink the Koolaid!! Support Star Wars The Old Republic. If you don’t, you will die. I’m just saying, check the facts.
SWTOR: Darth Community
There is 8 days left to meet SWTOR’s community stunt. That is what people think it is. I guess if you want to be negative, you can just sit in the corner and be grumpy. What happened to you as you grew up? Did someone tell you to grow up? Do you not like to have fun? Am I pissing you off?
Breaking SWTOR News!!!
SWTOR needs your help. Go to that link and make sure you “Like” their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter. If you don’t by the 25th of July, we will be DOOMED to never get the special announcement. That gives us 9 days to find away to gather a whole bunch of people. Here are the numbers:
1. Twitter is at 18,922 and we need 30,000 followers. We have 9 days to get 11,078 more people to follow SWTOR Twitter account.
2. Facebook is at 138,741 and we need 200,000 people to “Like” their page in 9 days. We are missing 61,259 Facebook friends.
What if SWTOR sucks?
So many of us are banking on Star Wars The Old Republic to be a good game. I won’t even say great. We are just looking for a game that will take us out of the trance we are in now. Most likely, most of us bloggers will only play it for a couple months and find a new shinie MMO to hype over. We are addicted to the hype of these games, not actually playing them. Yeah, we have one game we go to bed with every night just to lull us to sleep, but we are not as excited about it as the hype train. So, what if SWTOR sucks? What will we do then? Will we keep playing out security MMO or quit MMOs cold turkey?
SWTOR: 10 Tips to Beta Testing Gooder
Today, BioWare announced they will start inviting people to beta test Star Wars The Old Republic. We are all excited to get our hands on their baby, but do we want to just play it or REALLY test it? I know I just want to play it all night long just to see it’s beauty. I want to see if this is my next MMO for years to come. That is very selfish of me and that is why I am not signed up to test it. It is not because I don’t want to spoil my initial experience, it is because I want TOR to be perfect.
Call to Arms!
The beast is weakened, it is time to slit his throat. We have to gather our pitchforks and torches. Rally people and bring the pain to the 800lbs gorilla. We have waited too long for the monkey to fall from the Empire States Building. He has slipped and tumbled several stories down. It is time to shot the bastard down to the ground. Gather your tranquilizer guns of cool announcement and… FIRE!
WASDstomp said it and I’ll say it again:
It is time to make and announcement while Blizzard is dealing with the Real ID crap!
SWTOR: E3 Pros
Yesterday, I wrote about the CONS I thought could hurt Star Wars The Old Republic. I seriously take those Cons with a grain of salt. I’m turning into a fanboi. I’m breaking out the Yoda Underoos and Luke Skywalker sleeping bag. For the next year, this game will have my full attention. I’m no Darth Hater or Moon over Endor, but I feel the love for SWTOR. I have a list of exciting features announced or things I noticed at E3 this year. The trailer was awesome, but what is to come from SWTOR is amazing.
